Yes, that’s right: technology is coming into existence that allows the transmission of smells over the internet.

That means you now need to think about what your online experience could smell like to potential travellers. Your travel brand needs an online smell in the same way a physical retail outlet might have one. 

But it also means that travel shoppers will want to be able to know what the travel product itself smells like: the plane, the rooms, the food, the beach, and the destination in general — and will begin to use ’smell filters’ to search for smells they want.
